These links have been gathered by me from the net in an effort to provide you, my visitor, with access to many of the sites I consider to be interesting or useful or both in having a happy, healthy relationship with dogs. Even if you don't feel able to provide a home for a dog you probably will come in contact with many of them in your life time if you live in North America. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet mind to mind with another species - who says we have to go off planet?

The fidelity of a dog is a precious gift demanding no less binding moral responsibilities than the friendship of a human being. The bond with a true dog is as lasting as the ties of this earth can ever be.
This is Raven again. While this is a picture of her at about 3 months she is now 5 months old. She is wonderful. She learns quickly, has a great sence of humour and is mischevious. She and Tigger our Tabby cat play together - while it sometimes gets a bit rough they both seem to enjoy it and each one instigates the play by times.

One of her favourite games these days it to pull the stuffing out of her blanket (an old quilt). I think this is because she has a number of stuffed animals that she plays with, is teething and in chewing on the amimals got into the habit of emptying them of their stuffing. So now it's the blanket!

I actually found one of her baby canines (no the tooth fairy did not come) and I kept it along with the baby teeth from my children. Does this sound like my mother or what?! We are having a terrific time together - the three of us -- me, my husband and Raven.
Great Fun!!!!

10 Commandments for Dogs

  1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that BEFORE you get me.

  2. Give me time to understand what you want from me.

  3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial to my well-being.

  4. Don't be angry with me for long, & don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, entertainment & friends. I have only YOU.

  5. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don't understand your words, I understand your voice.

  6. Be aware that however you treat me, I'll never forget.

  7. Please don't hit me. I can't hit back, but I can bite & scratch and I really don't want to do that.

  8. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right foods or I've been out in the sun too long or my heart is getting old and weak.

  9. Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old.

  10. Go with me on difficult journeys. NEVER say, "I can't bear to watch, or let it happen in my absence." Everything is easier for me if YOU are there. Remember, I LOVE YOU!!
