jeep Off-Roading in the Pacific Northwest Jeep

Welcome   to my off-road pages.    landcruiser ... landcruiser ... landcruiser   Lets Go!!!
A couple of years ago my son Daniel began this odyssey with his friends. Soon he was taking his father and me on trips into the wilderness around the Squamish area on the coast of British Columbia just north of Vancouver -- and we are loving it.

Before we knew it we had decided to share the purchase price of a Jeep TJ with Daniel and have been having a ball ever since.

We had a dana 44 limited slip installed at the time of purchase. Then as soon as we took delivery we drove immediately to our tire store and traded in the stock tires for BFG, Mud Terrain 31 x 10 1/2 tires. The next addition was a TeraFlex lift; then we set out to explore our wonderful land.

Ah yes, ... then there was the Winch - a Warn Winch, a Warn 5000. For the moment it's on the front; however, the plan is to put the Warn 9000 on the front and move the 5000 to the rear. As you can see this "Jeep thing" is an ongoing project.

I have some pictures following of a recent trip but if you don't have time to wait for them to load (ah well) here are some links to other 4 wheeling sites you might enjoy.

  • Larry Soo's Pages with trip reports and a comprehensive list of FAQ for YJ's (Wrangers in the USA) and also useful tips for all Jeep owners.

  • Pacific Off-Roaders "The Pacific Off-Roaders are a small, family oriented club locatedon the beautiful west coast of British Columbia, Canada. The club was founded a couple of years ago with the decision to keep things simple on the structural and political side of things. We have no scheduled meetings, but regularly get together for barbecues and of course wheelin'. Our club's ethics and rules are based on the practice of tread lightly and the preservation of trails."

  • The Okanagan Jeep Club is based out of Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. They are a club open to all Jeep vehicles. They have everything from a 1948 CJ2A to a 1998 TJ Sport and everything in between. They have regularly scheduled off road trail runs with stock Jeeps in mind usually every second Sunday. Thanks to Tremel for the information.

We have just returned from the Pacific Northwest Trail Jamboree which is sponsored by the Pacific Northwest 4 Wheel Drive Association. This year's Jamboree was held near Naches, Washington. We had a wonderful time. I would like to share with you some of the beautiful country we explored. I hope you enjoy these pictures.

While most of the trails were dry, most of the time, we had a tremendous thunderstorm blow through one day and then we got to play in the mud.
