A W A R D S A W A R D S

Welcome to my site. I have been surfing the net now since 1996 and have been designing web pages for almost as long. The exponential growth of the Web has been amazing and exciting.

I began designing sites before I even had a chance to get one of my own up. Finally after having designed a number of sites I got back to my own personal site and have been enjoying putting some of my own thoughts and feelings on the net.

For some time now I have wanted to offer an award to those sites that I have found to be interesting and well designed with excellent content. I have also wanted to offer awards to sites that offer insite into our Brother Wolf (this link will take you to my wolf pages).

Finally both concepts have come to pass. As you can see below there are now awards for sites with at least a major section devoted to wolves and also awards for sites of a more general nature. There is also a special Peace 2000 Award.

NOTE: I regret, but due to the large number of applications I have been receiving for these awards I am no longer able to respond to each of you individually. From now on I will only be responding to those sites which have been granted an award. I apologize to all of you who will not be receiving a response and wish you well in you endeavors on the web.

The criteria for winning these awards are as follows:

Criteria

The site must be complete. I understand that all our sites are constantly undergoing updating and renovations, however, it is disappointing to follow a link just to be told that "some fabulous information will appear on this page at some later date".

No pornographic, illegal or offensive web sites.

If the graphics in your web site are not your own original work, proper credit must be given to the person who created the graphics.

Your web site must not be one giant page which takes several minutes or longer to load, or that crashes my browser.

Your web site can't be a collection of links - your web site must have other content - something useful to others on the internet.

I must be able to read the text on your pages, all pages must load correctly, and there must be no broken graphics.

When I visit your web site, by the time I leave, I should have learned a little something about you, your world, and how you relate to your world.

Wolf or Animal Spirit Awards

This first award cannot be applied for. It is an award that I grant to sites devoted to wolves or with a major section devoted to Brother Wolf which particularly moves me.

These 4 awards are intended specifically for sites whose main subject matter is wolves or our relationship to the other species with which we share our world. If your site meets this criteria please feel free to apply for awards 2 to 5. (see instructions and general criteria, which all sites must meet.)

Peace 2000 Award

While I have been creating my web site (which is an ongoing work) I have come to the realization that a lot of energy has been building up around the coming of the new millennium. Whether or not the millennium actually arrives at the dawning of the Year 2000 (by our Julian Calendar) is not important. What is important is that millions of people have trained their attention on that date and so, errors in calculations or not, this has become a time of intensely focused energy.

It seems that this energy can be used positively or negatively. We can concentrate on the "Millennium Bug" or we can tap into all that energy and direct it to creating a more peaceful, safer, more secure world. To that end I have created an award, "Markings Peace 2000 Award" and wish to present it to those who also are directing their energy to creating less violence and more compassion in this world.

While this award cannot be applied for, if you know of a site which you feel deserves this award please email me with its URL so that I can visit it. Thank you for your assistance.

This award cannot be applied for. It is an award that is given to sites devoted promoting peace in the world. The site need not necessarily be focused on the subject of Peace but it must encourage us in the direction of leading peaceful lives.
